Legitimation & Paternity
I am an experienced attorney with over 16 years
experience in family law litigation like Divorce,
Legitimation, Paternity, Modification, Contempt, Child
Support, Protective Orders, Adoption, Paternity and
Prenuptial Agreements.  Most of my cases are resolved
by agreement but if Litigation and Court Appearances
are required, I am experienced and prepared.

Georgia law does not recognize a father legally unless
the mother and father are married until the father seeks
a Legitimation. Signing your child's Birth Certificate
does not make you the legal father in Georgia with all
the rights that legal father's have. Whether you are the
legal father is especially important if the mother were to
die unexpectedly.  To protect your interest in your child,
Legitimation is recommended.

In most cases, I can meet with you and prepare all of
your documents for your review the same week.  An
Uncontested Legitimation or Paternity action can be
finalized once all the necessary documents are signed
in about 31 days from the date of filing. I can meet with
you and strategize about what tactic is best meets your
needs. I can discuss DNA testing, child support and
name changes for the child with you. The initial
consultation fee is waived if I am retained at that time.
